Blood Spattered Comfort Food

So about a year and a half ago, upstart_crow asked me to make a basilisk for her. And I said sure! I'll look into it! and then I'd start a piece and hate it, and talk to her a bit and write stuff down and start another piece and hate it and almost finished a piece and hated it and... you get the idea.

But Wednesday evening I decided that DAMMIT I WAS GONNA FINISH A BASILISK! D: D: D: So I sat down and called karadin for moral support and made an AWESOME armature that I am happy with! ^____^ YAY!!

She's got the Armature 2.0 design and is a little over 15" tall right now. Her tail is completely articulated as are her arm, leg ankle and wrist joints. ^_^

Here's my workbench yesterday. Pretty much there are:

23 SkellieOnes - (the green, red, black, and tape-colored to-be-determined ones)

1 Red Rider
1 White Rider
1 Black Rider - (all are Baba Yaga's servants and get skull headed beasts to ride! whee!)

1 Pan - (From Urban Fey!!!! He fills me with unholy gleeeeee! ^__^)
1 Coyote - commissioned
1 Anubis - commissioned
2 Random Goblins - (I found them in a box when I was cleaning. D: D: poor goblins.)
15 Imps - (a couple are crowlings, a couple are mosswomen and the rest are up to my imagination! :P)
1 Random Hunter - (she's a armature demonstration I never finished.)

and then there are 8 rootthings waiting in the wings... O_O

Yesterday I finished up the unfinished armatures. (did I say I *HATE* wrapping fingers? D: I had to watch three movies to get them finished yesterday. Woe! :P) And watched some movies wile I did it. :P

Today I get to do the fun parts! yay sculpting! ^_^ (probably also tomorrow and the next couple days as well, too. eep!) and then there's the paperwork and making a nest for the skellieones and playing with the House and taking pictures and calling people and all that fun stuff. ^_^ (and every now and then I take a dance break. because I can, of course. *DANCE BREAK*)

I also need to decide if Rapunzel is going to be Pre, Post or During pregnancy and if the Prince still has his eyes? I'm leaning more towards not, but then I'm like that.


ALSO ALSO?? there are Imps on Urban Fey!! Go see them! yay Corin! ^____^ and if you don't already, y'all totally need to read Urban Fey! It's made of ten kinds of awesome with a sekret awesome sauce for reals! ^____^ :D :D :D

So yus. I go work on dolls now. ^_^

in other news, I finished some armatures last night and then? started another one. ...whut. >_>; It's just that I have no hunter armatures. ;_; *sigh* I'll get to them this weekend as I decree this weekend to be Sculpt Those Heads and Sew Them Bodies Weekend Extravaganza. When I'm not at wrok, of course. and stuff.

Also? I bought some La Doll clay yesterday. ^__^ I'm still working on the BJD project of doom and I think that might solve my current troubleshooting problem.....

Also also? I'm *really* tired, but I'm in that place where the creatures come easily and everything just snaps into place. I really don't want to go to sleep, but I have to work tomorrow. Next year? I'm taking the week before Wiscon off. Or at least calling out a couple days during the week before.

Laurence is coming along *really* nicely! and I only have to sew his right arm on, put paint in strategic locations adn glue some hair on his head (or make him a littlehood/jester cap I dunno yet... or both? and then he's done and can be photographed for real. But I think I'm gonna wait until tomorrow, 'cause I'm tired and the detail work is just bleah right now.

I got lots of stuff done at work. I still have a bin of mending to do tomorrow when we're slow. I kinda need to get a move on with that as it's getting rather slow.

Watched episode 2 of Ashes to Ashes and my girl crush is still there. *sigh* Now I've got to watch the rest of them. ^___^

Had a lovely time at Art&Chocolate. I finished 33 pairs of hands and measured out the arm wires for attaching them to the bodies. I'm gonna have armatures coming out my ears soon. I need to get some hunter armatures prepped so I can have a variety of sizes to work from.

Finished another hunter and a crowthing imp. I've got another crowthing to sew skin on and finish up, but he's halfway done, at least.

I've got 2 owlthings and a wolfthing hunter in process. ^_^ two of those are commissioned and one I just want to make.

I got a birthday package from strangemodegirl!!! ^____^ She sent me some imps I've wanted to try (hanami and red queen!!) and a bottle of Goblin!! *EEEEEEEeeEEE!!* I love Goblin! ^__^ It's like fresh dirt and is made of awesome! *squishes the Amyness* I am now over my bottle quota and need to paint a GC bottle box! the horror! whatever shall I do? *hand to forehead* ~_^

Also, suibhne_geilt sold another story and I am so proud of him! whee! *does a dance* so fabulous!

hmmm.... Mim and I are washing the dishes. and then it's my laundry for me and trying out a new system for the litterbox. I swear this summer I'm going to make things easier on myself. *crosses fingers*

And tomorrow, I wash my torn jeans in preparation for turnign them into skirts of DOOM to go with my faerie tale boots. yus.
